    The Galt House Hotel  - A legendary destination among hotels in the city.  The Galt House is the largest downtown meeting and convention hotel in the Southeast region and the only wanterfront hotel in Louisville.  We are located adjacent to the KFC YUM! Center and walking distance to many restaurants and attractions in the downtown area. Our hotel features over 130,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, 1300 guest rooms, six restaurants and lounges, and much more.      We are currently seeking a Front Office Agent who has an engaging personality and outstanding customer service background. The ideal candidate will have a great smile, positive attitude and friendly demeanor. Will be eager to continuously learn and adapt to change and have the desire of creating memorable guest experiences by providing exceptional guest service.  This position is a morning shift 7 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.

    Responsibilities

    • Process all guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and room change/late check-out requests;
    • Secure payment; activate/reissue room keys. document exceptions;
    • Verify and/or adjust billing for guests;
    • Clear departures in computer system;
    • Coordinate with Housekeeping to track room status and guest concerns;
    • File guest paperwork or documentation;
    • Run and check daily reports, contingency lists, and credit card authorization reports;
    • Supply guests with directions and information;
    • Answer, record, and process all guest calls, requests, questions, or concerns and follow up to ensure guests' satisfaction;

    • Arrange transportation for guests/visitors;

    • Count and secure bank at beginning and end of shift;
    • Cash guests' checks, process all payment types, vouchers, paid-outs, charges, and provide change;
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED;
    • 2 years of customer service experience preferably in the hospitality industry;
    • Must be knowledgeable of Louisville and the surrounding area with the capability of providing information and directions to local attractions;

    • Basic computer and math skills;

    • Professional telephone etiquette and office skills;
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills;
    • Ability to analyze and solve problems;
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout shift.
