    The Galt House Hotel  - A legendary destination among hotels in the city.  The Galt House is the largest downtown meeting and convention hotel in the Southeast region and the only wanterfront hotel in Louisville.  We are located adjacent to the KFC YUM! Center and walking distance to many restaurants and attractions in the downtown area. Our hotel features over 130,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, 1300 guest rooms, six restaurants and lounges, and much more.     We are actively seeking a Housekeeping Operations Manager who will assist the Director of Housekeeping in providing supervision, direction and management of the Housekeeping, Laundry and Public Areas departments to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are met and maintained. Will also assist in providing a healthy work environment by promoting integrity, foster teamwork and ensuring excellence throughout the department.


    • Will assist in the hiring process for the Housekeeping Departmen by interviewing qualifying candidates.
    • Will assist in conducting annual performance appraisals; counsel employees on necessary improvements.
    • Ensure all documentation of terminations, counseling or coaching sessions, evaluations, etc., are accurate and placed in associate's personnel file.
    • Assist in the training and development of Housekeeping staff on policy and procedures for the department.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and current technology to maximize revenue and maintain competitive position.
    • Monitor implemented training programs to ensure the highest level of customer service throughout the department.
    • Assist in the resolution of customer complaints;follow through on comment card and customer feedback as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
    • Assist in overseeing lost and found procedures for all housekeeping areas.
    • Assist in conducting department meetings that motivate and prepare staff on a daily basis; ensure shift change updates are accurate.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping.



    • BS/BA preferred but not required.
    • Five years experience working in the hospitality industry.
    • Multi-lingual a plus.
    • Experience working in the Housekeeping department of 500 + room property.
    • Knowledge in basic sanitation and safety compliance requirements.
    • Previous management experience with positive leadership qualities.
    • Ability to train and motivate staff.
