    The Galt House Hotel is currently seeking an Assistant Manager to join the fine-dining team of the RIVUE Restaurant.  The Assistant Manager will assist managing the nightly operation of the restaurant to promote and ensure guest satisfaction by developing and maintaining a strong team environment with an emphasis on guest satisfaction and delivery of prompt, courteous and correct service.  RIVUE is the most unique, upscale restaurant in Louisville and the only restaurant in the world with dual revolving floors. It is located on the 25th floor of the RIVUE Tower in the Galt House Hotel.     • Primary contribution is supervising other people
    • Schedules, approves vacation and manages overtime
    • Assigns and checks work; provides guidance, training, day-to-day direction, tracks and documents attendance records
    • Assists in managing the front-of-the-house staff, including recruitment and training, assuring all server Standard Operating Procedures are being followed
    • Ensures food orders are accurately prepared and delivered timely according to company standards
    • Answers the telephone and inputs reservations into OpenTable reservation system
    • Assists with managing the financial aspects of the restaurant’s operation, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost control
    • Analyzes operational problems such as over production, wastage, theft and establishes controls
    • Reviews and approves requisitions for restaurant equipment
    • Supervises and conducts staff meetings and attends and contributes to all Food and Beverage meetings and completes follow up to staff members
    • Responds to guest complaints in a considerate , professional and positive manner by showing concern and actively listening
    • Performs annual employee evaluations; effective coaching for staff; enforces disciplinary action with all proper documentation
    • Recommends measures to improve work procedures and employee performance to increase quality of services and job safety
    • Responsible for rewarding and disciplining staff


    • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
    • College degree desired
    •  5+ years restaurant experience in a supervisory role
    • Prior experience working in the hospitality industry

    • Extensive knowledge of food handling requirements with regard to public health standards
    • Ability to read, interpret and demonstrate the preparation of drink recipes
    • Excellent organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse team environment

    • Must have excellent problem solving skills

    • Must project a professional appearance

    • Must have excellent telephone etiquette

    • Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate with a variety of software packages such as Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Micros

    • Must have basic math skills

    • Experience working in an upscale dining atmosphere is preferred
