    The Galt House Hotel is hiring an Executive Meeting Manager to sell and service small group and catering events in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.  This position will manage multiple events and accounts at once and must be able to ensure a consistent, high level of service throughout the sales, event and post-event phases of the process.  This role will focus primarily on groups with up to 50 guests or 25 guest rooms. 

    Responsibilities

    • Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (lead follow up, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, internet prospecting, etc.) to maximize revenues and meet/exceed individual and team revenue goals
    • Receive and respond to all customer inquiries within four business hours.
    • Perform site inspections demonstrating knowledge of the hotel’s features. 
    • Prepare and execute proposals, sales contracts, banquet event orders, and group resumes to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
    • Serve and assist in coordinating all function details with clients and staff to include but not limited to meeting room set-up specifications, banquet food & beverage, audio/visual equipment, billing, etc. 
    • Maximize catering revenues by actively upselling menus, meeting space, products and amenities during the sales process. 
    • Provide clear and effective communications with clients and other departments in order to ensure all details of functions and group activities are clearly defined. And implement effective methods to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Meet clients upon arrival and prior to departure to ensure all details of the contract and event orders are being delivered. 
    • Conduct successful pre-con meetings when required. 
    • In a timely, accurate and consistent manner, document and report all sales activities as required. 
    • Maintain an active lists of accounts to ensure continuous relationship building activities. Top accounts should be contacted, visited, entertained, etc. frequently. 
    • Participate in trade shows and presentations to promote the hotel and its facilities. 
    • Reconcile daily banquet and catering revenues
    • Perform other services and/or job related duties as requested or assigned by the Director of Catering Sales. May be called on to host functions and participate in, or conduct sales blitzes, travel and work extended hours to achieve departmental goals.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma required; Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • Prior experience in the field of hospitality with specific experience in catering or sales is preferred.
    • Must possess the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence clients and hotel guests
    • Ability to work collaboratively with hotel service team in providing exceptional customer service
    • Strong computer acumen with the ability to implement and maintain all sales documentation
    • The ability to produce proactive sales strategies through direct sales calls, prospecting for new clients, and client visits
    • The ability to make revenue management decisions to effectively grow market share
    • Knowledge of contractual agreements and legal implications
    • Knowledge of menu planning, banquet operations, event technology products and services
    • Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories
    • Strong customer development and relationship management skills
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
    • Exercise excellent organization, time management and listening skills. 
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
    • Use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point. Delphi preferred, but not required
