    We are seeking a Bar Back who will assist the Bartender in Al J's.

    Responsibilities

    The primary responsibilities of a bar back are to:

     

    Ensure there is always enough back up liquor;

    Run to the storage area to get alcohol if any bartender runs out;

    Change kegs when required;

    Pick up empty glasses and bottles from the tables and outside the bar;

    Wipe down tables and bar tops;

    Re-stock garnishes and mixes;

    Always ensure there is enough clean glassware;

    Re-stock ice when needed;

    Maintain clean rags in each bartender’s station;

    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    One year minimum experience busser, bar back, or server assistant.
    Familiarity with bar set up and vernacular. 
    Ability to see bartender needs in advance.
    Good reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required. 
    Capable of using knives and other food preparation equipment safely.

    Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for period up to an 8 hour shift
    Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel. 
    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
