    Responsibilities

    Assist in overseeing the daily operations of all banquets including staff while making sure that all food, banquet and otherwise, meet specifications and standards for all functions. Support the Galt House hallmarks and standards. Responsible for the Supervision, training and scheduling of kitchen staff. Ability to cross function in every position of kitchen. Ensure that all food, banquet and otherwise, meet specifications and standards for all functions. Develop, implement and cost menus and buffets. Ensures the cleanliness of kitchen, dish room and floors. Communicate with sales and convention services to ensure guest satisfaction. Meet with vendors to determine best pricing. Act as Executive Chef in his/her absence. All other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    One should have a culinary degree or equivalent experience. One must have ServSafe Certification or equivalent. Have the ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders. Generally 5+ years of experience in high volume banquet kitchen. One must have computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Have the ability to connect with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. One must have persuasive communication skills to gain the interest and involvement of others in the work process. One should have an extreme sense of urgency. Have the ability to get work done in complete, accurate detail and in accordance with company standards. One should have a faster than average work pace. Ability to be thorough with follow up of delegated work. Must have the ability to train, teach, and motivate a team. One will be subjected to wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noises. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen.
